After a lot of teasing and speculations of the latest announced of Microsoft Lumia 950 windows phones, Microsoft finally laid it all to rest at the Windows 10 Devices event that was held on 6th October this year. The new smartphone comes with pretty cool specifications to sweep you off your money for. The processor is incredible, camera, and lot of new features to the windows phones in general.
Design and Display
The phone comes in an 8.25 mm thickness and 150 grams in weight, which makes it so slim and incredible.
Microsoft Lumia 950 comes in a bigger display of 5.2 inch with a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels with a great density of about 564 ppi. The phone’s screen is protected by scratch-resistant AMOLED display Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
Processor
Microsoft Lumia 950 comes in a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor which is supported by up to 1.8GHz. The phone comes with the latest hexa-core processor.
The phone also comes with 3GB of RAM while it was supported with 32GB inbuilt storage which can be expandable with up to 2TB via the microSD slot.
The phone also feature the new Windows 10 Mobile OS for the best possible, which comes in Windows Hello Beta for the mobile which will make you easy and secure to unlock your mobile phone with face recognition instead of PIN code. All need is for you to look straight directly at the screen and the infra-red camera will automatically recognize and unlocks your phone.
Other Features
The new Lumia phone comes with a Continuum features which will let you convert your phone into a PC by connecting a Bluetooth keyboard and mouse, while you can also use with an external monitor via a special accessory called the Display Port.
The phone comes in a high camera specs, the phone features a 20 Megapixels ZEISS rear camera with a triple LED natural flash light and a optical image stabilisation for your image capturing.
The rear camera also have the ability to record a stunning 4K videos just like the iPhone 6S. The front camera comes in 5 Megapixels wide-angle camera with Full HD (1080p) video recording capability on the front.
The battery however comes super cool; the phone comes with a high powerful 3000mAh battery that can charge up to 50% level with 30 minutes of charging with the USB-C Fast Charging feature. There is also a new feature of Glance Screen for easier access to information such as date, time and missed calls.
Price and Availability
The Lumia 950 is presently not available for sale but according to Microsoft, the phone will start shipping in November, 2015 in United States and also probably get to Nigeria before the end of December or probably Next Year (2016). Presently there is a pre-order page opened for anyone that want to use the phone first when it get released. As presently, the price for the pre-order page is $549 and I guess the release price will be around that price once launched.
There is no news about the phone coming to Nigeria yet and no price tag what so ever but I estimate the price to range from N110, 000 to N130, 000 at launch and probably higher.
